Like many other families, we lost Raymond G. Skaggs in the Vietnam War in 1969.  It was a sad day for us.  Ray had already been in Vietnam and was shot, which is why it was stateside and in the hospital.  After his recovery, he felt like he had an obligation to go back to his fellow troops.  On his return to his unit in Vietnam, they were out on patrol.  Ray volunteered to be the point man and he was shot by a sniper.  This time he didn't make it.  He was KIA.  We all miss Ray very much, but the Traveling Wall helps us cope and brings comfort to us.  Farewell to our comrades, friend, hero and brother-in-law.comrade
