Annual Summer Camps
About every year since Kids For Christ began in about 1980 my wife and I held a summer camp for the children. We also had children who were abused, neglected, molested and who come from broken homes. During these camps, we had special guest and ministers to talk, minister and visit with the children. Pictures below are some who visited over the years.

Senator H. Cooper Snider and his wife Dorthy is pictured with some of the children in camp. (Remember, not all the children were abused, etc.)
Pictured is Juvenal Judge James Kirsch, Senator Snyder, Bill Allison and Mrs. Snyder. They are enjoying the meal of the day. Beans, fried taters, cornbread and onions.

Pictured is Congressman & Mrs. Bob McEwin and Dr. George Pettit who served on our board.

Pastor Willis Howard from Grace Chapel Church was one of many pastors to attend camp to minister to the youth and visitors.

Time for buddy check. In the two pictures to the left you see the children holding hands with their hands lifted high. Everyone must have a buddy. Making sure everyone is OK.
It was a hot summer and one of the favorit activities of the day was swimming in the pool.

Before summer camp each year everyone had to have a physical. Dr. George Pettit and his staff took care of it for us at no charge.

Mike Bender Karate School came to intertain. The children loved it.

Arts & Crafts was a big item. Some learned to fold a flag.

Music Class and Chori Practice for evening service.

Willis Howard, Pastor of Grace Chapple Church, did a great job in the evening service. Each night was a different minister.

The Ohio National Guard set up their GP Medium Tents. One to sleep in and one for a Mess Tent.

Our friend, Roy Rogers, couldn't make it open camp so he asked his sister to come. She cut the ribbon to officially open camp.

Magic Show at pool side

Bill Allison, Skippy, Singing and intertainment around the camp fire.

Another year of summer camp has come and gone. Hugs, tears and sad goodby's are done and said. Some will be back next year and some won't.
They are all grown up now. Some are deceased, in jail or prison, but some have made good, some are ministers and some have left town to bigger and better things.
I pray for them and hope they are all saved and ready to meet the Lord. Amen!

At the end of each camp there was a parent's night. The children plaid games, had relay races and a camp fire in the evening.
We gave out certificates, ribbons, trophies and plaques to the best camper, best group campers, most improved and such. We gave out ribbons to the 1st, 2nd & 3the place winners of the games and contest.
Some wanted to leave, some wanted camp to go on and some was afraid to go back home. One little girl was so afraid of her mom's boy friend getting her that she slept with my wife the first couple of nights of camp.

The slideshow to the right are pictures of guest, visitors, and volunteers who worked at the camp and helped prepare for camp.
These people, like many others, helped to make our annual summer camps possible. Some have passed away, some have retired from office and some have moved on in their career.
We are have been blessed to have met so many wonderful people over the years as we have followed our cause in life.

Uncle Ebb, as everyone called him, had a place in his heart for Kids For Christ Foundation and the work going on for the youth of Scioto County. The old car we had was woren out from seeing about our members and helping them. Uncle Ebb Glockner donated this car to replace the one we wore out. He supported us in every way he could. In loving memery of a great man.

We changed our name from Apostolic Boys & Girls Club to Kids For Christ Foundation to better serve the children in our community. The slideshow above is pictures of members, volunteers and sponsors over the years.

Our Annual Summer Camp was held at Shawnee State Park this year. We had the privlige of baptising several children in the wonderful name of Jesus Christ.
