To all those touched by Alzheimer's
Our loved ones are leaving us, and no one is to blame.
They are taken by the disease
with a very strange name.
They had such great minds;
would remember all they could see,
Weather it was solving problems or reading poetry.
They were good at living
and productive at their occupation.
To see them slip the way they have
Sometimes causes us frustration.
Overlook the things they do or the things they say.
Hang onto the memory of what they were.
Not what they are today.
They slowly lose memory of places, faces and names.
They will even lose ability to play simple games.
Remember the love and good times you shared,
Be gentle and be ind.
I believe this they will remember
in the deep recesses of their mind.
When Alzheimer's takes them,
eep whispering in their ear,
Make sure the last words that they hear
Are: "We love you, Dear."
If it were possible I'd thin their last report
Would be: "Thanks to all who showed love,
Kindness and gave support."
