SUFFER LITTLE CHILDREN

FORBID THEM NOT

There  Is  No  Excuse  For  Child  Abuse

"There Is No Excuse For Child Abusoe" This was our slogan and a state-ment we stood behind years ago in Kids For Christ Foundation. There were people and programs that didn't like it, but that was our stand back then and still is today.

If you stop and think about it, we have about every kind of program there is to help people with any situation, hang-up, habit or problem they may have. True, it is even worse today than it was in the 70's, why? Because there are more drugs, alcohol, poverty and divorces than ever before. There are more drug pushers, corruption, crooked lawyers and those more interested in self gain than than our children who are always the ones who suffer in the end.

Child abuse and neglect happens more often than you think. It can happen anywhere, anytime in poor, middle class, or upper class homes. Child abuse is a viscous circle. Usually passed on from generation to generation and its effects can be severe and long lasting.

If you have always wanted to do something about child abuse, but didn't know what to do or how to do it, this next chapter of my book will tell you what to do and how to do it,

It is time child abuse and neglect is stopped and the only way it can be, is by everyone working together. Those who are abusing a child should seek help and those who see it should report it. Some people have the wrong idea about reporting child abuse or neglect. They feel like it's not any of their business what people do to their own children and they should stay out of it.

Not so, it is everyone's business what happens to our youth. When they start stealing to take care of a drug habit, or breaking into our homes, or hurting or killing someone for money, it becomes our business, why not do something to help them now before they get to that point.

Why shouldn't it be our business to stop what is going on in their lives while they are young instead of putting them away when they are older and have to feed and clothe them the rest of their lives, that is if they live that long.

If the family, friends, loved ones or neighbors don't report it, who will? That's right, you and I. I don't know how it is in your area, but it is bad in our's. A small child was beaten to death and thrown in the dumpster in a apartment complex like trash. Children go hungry to support mom and dad's drug habbit. Children are beaten by mom's boy friend.

In this chapter you will learn how to recognize child abuse, what to do if you see it happening and how and where to report it. Remember, "ONLY YOU CAN PREVENT CHILD ABUSE".

Why shouldn't it be our business to stop what is going on in their lives while they are young instead of putting them away when they are older? Then we have to feed and clothe them the rest of their lives, that is if they live that long.

1.  A report of child abuse is made every ten seconds

2. More than five children die every day as a result of child abuse.

3. Approximately 80% of children that die from abuse are under the age of 4.

4. It is estimated that between 50-60% of child fatalities due to maltreatment are not recorded as such on death certificates.

5. More than 90% of juvenile sexual abuse victims know their perpetrator in some way.

6.  Child abuse occurs at every socioeconomic level, across ethnic and cultural lines, within all religions and at all levels of education.

7. About 30% of abused and neglected children will later abuse their own children, continuing the horrible cycle of abuse.

8. About 80% of 21 year olds that were abused as children met criteria for at least one psychological disorder.

9. 14% of all men in prison in the USA were abused as children.

10. 36% of all women in prison were abused as children.Children who experience child abuse & neglect are 59% more likely to be arrested as a juvenile, 28% more likely to be arrested as an adult, and 30% more likely to commit violent crime.

Did  You  Know ?

Consequences

1.  Abused children are 25% more likely to experience teen pregnancy.

2. Abused teens are less likely to practice safe sex, putting them at greater risk for STDs.

3. One-third to two-thirds of child maltreatment cases involve substance use to some degree.

4. Children whose parents abuse alcohol and other drugs are three times more likely to be abused and more than four times more likely to be        neglected than children from non-abusing families.

5.  As many as two-thirds of the people in treatment for drug abuse reported being abused or neglected as children.

Children who are abused or neglected, including those who witness domestic violence, often exhibit emotional, cognitive, and behavioral problems, such as anxiety, depression, suicidal behavior, difficulty in school, use of alcohol and other drugs, and early sexual activity. Abuse, particularly experienced when children are young, causes stress that can disrupt early brain and physical development, placing mistreated young children at higher risk for health problems as adults. Children who are abused or neglected also are more likely to repeat the cycle of violence by entering into violent relationships as teens and adults or abusing their own children. An estimated 686,000 U.S. children were victims of maltreatment in 2012, and approximately 1,640 of these children died from abuse or neglect.

Child abuse and neglect are underreported and occur in families of all socioeconomic levels and ethnic groups. Major risk factors for child abuse/neglect victims include being under 4 years old and having special needs. Family and community risk factors include parental substance abuse, parental mental illness, major stress (e.g. poverty, social isolation), domestic violence, and unsafe neighborhoods. Research shows that in 30% to 60% of homes with either domestic violence or child abuse cases, it is likely that both types of abuse are occurring.

Kinds Of Child Abuse

There are six kinds of Child Abuse that we will cover in this chapter. Child abuse and neglect occurs in a range of situations, for a range of reasons. Children are rarely subject to one form of abuse at a time. Adults can experience a range of psychological, emotional and social problems related to childhood abuse.

Listed are the six (6):

1.  Emotional abuse (Brain washing)

2. Neglect

3. Physical abuse

4. Family violence

5.  Sexual abuseOrganised sexual abuse

6.  Verbal Abuse

Mind control (also known as brainwashing, reeducation, brainsweeping, coercive persuasion, thought control, or thought reform) is a theory that human subjects can be indoctrinated in a way that causes "an impairment of autonomy, an inability to think independently, and a disruption of beliefs and affiliations. In this context, brainwashing refers to the involuntary reeducation of basic beliefs and values"

Child neglect is defined as a type of maltreatment related to the failure to provide needed, age-appropriate care. Unlike physical and sexual abuse, neglect is usually typified by an ongoing pattern of inadequate care and is readily observed by individuals in close contact with the child.

Physical abuse is a non-accidental trauma or physical injury caused by punching, beating, kicking, biting, burning or otherwise harming a child, physical abuse is the most visible form of child maltreatment. Many times, physical abuse results from inappropriate or excessive physical discipline.

Domestic violence (also domestic abuse, spousal abuse, intimate partner violence, battering, or family violence) is a pattern of behavior which involves violence or other abuse by one person against another in a domestic setting, such as in marriage or cohabitation.

Prevalence of childhood sexual abuse in a community sample of Australian women.  Perpetrators of the abuse were usually male (98%) and usually known to the child.  41% were ...years, with a median age difference of 24 years from that of the abused individual ... the police, adoctor or a helping agency (eg, community organisations, such as sexual assault services ...

Verbal Abuse Yelling, shouting, swearing, continuously arguing, interrupting, talking over you, put downs, using loud and threatening language and tone to cause fear, name calling, intimidating you, mocking you, abusive language.
